Current Employment Status

After attaining about three decades of experience in clinical operations, quality improvement, patient centred care and lean management, Candis Kinkus, a highly skilled and qualified administrator, is currently working as an Administrative Director at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Educational Qualification

Candis Kinkus completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Science, with Biology as the special subject, from the University of Pittsburgh.  She has also completed her master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University.  She also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.  She has specialised in Marketing and Finance.

Ms Kinkus has an excellent track record of managing and administrating Medical institutions and hospitals.  She began her career, as a Director at Morristown Memorial Hospital.  This Hospital is a century old non-profit health care organisation.  Ms Kinkus brought about a sea of changes in this organisation in a short span of three years, which began in the year 1985.  She set up a Joint Venture Laboratory in the hospital.  This innovative scheme generated millions of dollars of revenue in a decade.

In her short career span of over a year as Practice Manager at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, she introduced primary care centre.  She innovatively implemented cross-training for the employees.  This facilitated in the staff helping and supporting each other’s work.

After her career at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Ms Kinkus worked, as a Director at Medical College of Pennsylvania and Allegheny General Hospital.  Here she worked at various departments for a period of ten years and seven months.  Some of the departments she held are Medical Practices department of Allegheny University, Department of Emergency Medicine of Allegheny Hospital and also the Pathological department in the Medical College of Pennsylvania.

She also worked, as a Practice Manager at the Gateway Medical Group, Inc.  She managed financial budgets, day to day operations and compliance at this group.  By assessing the status quo of the institution, she eliminated wastes and losses by closing down underperforming projects and also reduced staff.  This generated immense profits for the organisation.

Candis Kinkus spent part of career, as a Director of pathology department at Maggee-Women’s Hospital for about seven years.  Maggee-Women’s Hospital, affiliated to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre, is a teaching and research institute for gynaecology and obstetrics, gynaecological oncology and neonatology.  The US Health and Human Services department has recognised this institution as National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health.

Third, you must know your industry options. For an instance, you are an accountant who wants to be a writer for a career change. You should be aware of the various industries that need writers; these may include television networks, radio stations, publishing houses, marketing companies and others. There are millions of companies in the world, and if you fail to see at least ten industries looking for writers, then you are doomed.

Fourth, Robert Gerberg states that you should remember that no one is perfect, so neutralize your liabilities. It is always best to over prepare, that is why, anticipate the liabilities that an employer might see in you. Know how you can counter that with some of your achievements. Put in mind that a good defense is the best offense.

Fifth, break free from traditional resumes. Does your resume looks like the others’? Does your resume uncover liabilities? Does your resume sell your marketable skills? Does your resume show how can you be an asset to the company? These are the few guide questions for you to arrive at a perfect and convincing resume.
